Before signing the employment contract, any candidate with a foreign diploma must present an equivalence of his diploma by the respective Luxembourg Ministry as well as an extract from the criminal record (bulletin n°3), dating back less than 2 months.
For foreign secondary school certificates:
The recognition of a foreign certificate or diploma is ensured by the Diploma Recognition Service of the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth (MEN).

For university degrees (BAC+3, BAC+5 and BAC+8):
An application for registration in the "register of evidence of formal qualifications" must be submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).

A fee of 75 euros per title is required to have your diploma recognised. This tax will not be refunded by the BCL.
