International investment position at the end of December 2015

Compared to the third quarter of 2015, Luxembourg’s external financial assets increased by 113 billion euros (+1.2%) to reach 9 470 billion euros at the end of the last quarter of 2015. External financial liabilities increased by 121 billion euros and reached 9 454 billion euros at the end of the last quarter of 2015. Luxembourg’s net international investment position, which corresponds to the difference between external financial assets and liabilities, thus decreased by 7.5 billion euros and reached 16.5 billion euros at the end of the last quarter of 2015 compared to 24 billion euros at the end of the third quarter of 2015. This deterioration of the net international investment position is linked to negative revaluation results.
