BCL staff member appointed chairman of the EMMI Steering Committee

The Banque centrale du Luxembourg (BCL) is pleased to announce that Mr Paul Mercier, currently Adviser to the Executive Board and Coordinator of European and internal affairs, has been appointed Chairman of the Steering Committee of the European Money Markets Institute (EMMI) for a period of three years. 

The Steering Committee is monitoring the methodology and the control framework for Euribor (the money market reference rate for the euro) and Eonia (the effective overnight reference rate for the euro), the two indexes established by the EMMI. 

Mr Mercier will serve as Chairman of the Steering Committee in his personal capacity.
