6,000 shops and small businesses in Luxembourg will receive leaflets on the new 50 € banknote
- In anticipation of the launch of the new 50 € banknote on 4 April 2017, 2.8 million shops and small businesses in the euro area, including 6,000 in Luxembourg, will receive an information leaflet and a lenticular card introducing the new banknote.
- Owners of stores and small businesses must ensure that their authentication and banknote processing devices are ready to accept the new banknote.
The new 50 € banknote will be put into circulation on Tuesday 4 April 2017. As of 14 February 2017, the Eurosystem will send leaflets to more than 2.8 million shops and small businesses in all countries of the euro area, including 6,000 in Luxembourg.
The leaflet explains to cash handling professionals the launch schedule and how to adapt their equipment to the new banknote. It also reminds users that euro banknotes are easy to verify by using the simple "FEEL - LOOK - TILT" method.

From mid-March 2017, leaflets on the new 50 € banknote will also be available to the public at the counters of commercial banks, as well as at the counters of Post Luxembourg.
